Bryan and I are spending the academic year at NYU Abu Dhabi, and we would like to enlist your aid in helping us choose a book for the first “Abu Dhabi Reads” program, which will be held on November 1.
Modeled on various “One Book” programs that have been held in the United States and around the world, the program is sponsored by Electra Street: A Journal of the Arts & Humanities Published at NYU Abu Dhabi. From among the nominations the journal received, the staff has chosen three books to be finalists: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury; Life of Pi by Yann Martel; and The Ruins of Us
by Keija Parssinen.
Please help us choose the book that we’ll read together by voting here. And you can participate even if you can’t join us in Abu Dhabi, because Electra Street will be holding online discussions both before and after the November event.
For more information about the program, and blurbs about each of the three finalists, take a look at “Abu Dhabi Reads – The Finalists” on the Electra Street site. The post also contains links to the voting page.
All votes are completely anonymous. Thanks in advance for your help!
